2. Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this impactful role, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Education:
- A three-year National Diploma (NQF 6) OR an Undergraduate Bachelor Degree (NQF 7) in Labour Relations, Labour Law, LLB, or BCOM LAW.
- Experience:
- A minimum of two (2) years of functional experience within Inspection and Enforcement Services.
- Licence:
- Possession of a valid driver’s licence is essential.

3. Key Responsibilities
As a Team Leader, your primary duties will include:
- Planning and independently conducting substantive inspections to ensure compliance with key labour legislation, specifically the Basic Conditions of Employment Act (BCEA) and Labour Relations Act (LRA).
- Planning and executing independent investigations into reported cases of labour legislation contravention, enforcing compliance as and when necessary, including making preparations for and appearing in Court as a State witness.
- Planning, allocating, and conducting regular proactive (Blitz) inspections to monitor adherence to labour legislation, and compiling and consolidating reports stemming from these inspections.
- Conducting regular Advocacy Campaigns focused on labour legislation.
- Managing the finalisation of case files received and investigations conducted by Inspectors.
- Contributing at a management level to the planning, drafting, and maintenance of regional inspection plans and reports, including the execution of analysis and compilation of consolidated statistical reports on regional and allocated cases.
