Opportunity Overview
The City of Johannesburg Metro is offering a permanent position for a Deputy Director within the Group Communication and Marketing Department, specifically in the Marketing Branch. This role is based at 100 Carr Street, Newtown Junction.
This opportunity involves supporting the City's marketing function by executing marketing plans and strategies across various platforms. The successful candidate will contribute to achieving short-, medium-, and long-term marketing objectives and enhancing the City’s brand image and equity.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 or NQF Level 4 qualification.
- A Degree in Marketing, Business Management, Stakeholder Relations Management, or an equivalent/related qualification at NQF Level 7.
- 7 – 9 years of experience in the related field.
- At least 4 years of this experience must be in a line management position or involve similar experience in leading/coordinating a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Originate, produce, deliver, guide, and implement highly targeted, integrated corporate marketing services in line with organisational strategy.
- Lead market research efforts to determine the viability of current and existing products/services.
- Create commercially viable strategic partnerships and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage brand reputation and ensure the City’s corporate identity and brand culture are maintained.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and control over the utilisation, productivity, and performance of personnel within the sub-directorate.
- Execute sound financial, risk, compliance, and supply chain management.
- Contribute information to support financial planning processes within the sub-directorate.
