Opportunity Overview
The Department of Defence is inviting applications for an Administration Clerk: Supervisor position within the Area Military Health Unit Western Cape (AMHU WC) in Wynberg. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to the Public Service through vital administrative support.
As an Administration Clerk: Supervisor, you will oversee and perform crucial clerical duties and administrative tasks, particularly within Human Resource Administration. The role is central to maintaining organised and efficient operations within the unit.
Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this position, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- A minimum of Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) or an equivalent qualification.
- At least three (3) years of proven experience in Human Resource Administration.
- Knowledge of clerical duties and practices.
- Ability to capture data and operate computer systems effectively.
- Skill in collecting statistics.
- Knowledge and understanding of the legislative framework governing the Public Service.
- Familiarity with working procedures relevant to the environment.
- Planning and organisation skills.
- Computer literacy.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally.
- Demonstrated language skills.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of administrative and supervisory duties, including:
- Recording, organising, storing, capturing, and retrieving correspondence and data for the unit.
- Updating registers and handling routine enquiries efficiently.
- Performing office tasks such as making photocopies and managing facsimiles.
- Distributing documents and packages to various internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintaining a comprehensive filing system for the component.
- Typing basic letters and other correspondence as required.
- Keeping and maintaining accurate incoming and outgoing registers for the component.
