Opportunity Overview
Witzenberg Local Municipality, which includes the towns of Ceres, Tulbagh, Wolseley, P.A. Hamlet, and Op die Berg, is offering a 12-month training contract. This initiative, in collaboration with the Department of Police Oversight and Community Safety, aims to train 20 unemployed youth as Peace Officers and Traffic Wardens.
This programme provides a valuable opportunity to enhance law enforcement capacity within the Witzenberg area. The Department will cover the full cost of the training for all qualifying participants for the duration of the programme.
Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this training opportunity, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Possess a Grade 12 Matric Certificate.
- Hold a valid Code B driving license.
- Be a South African citizen.
- Be between the ages of 20 and 35 years.
- Reside within the Witzenberg Municipal Area (an Affidavit must be submitted as proof of residence).
- Have a clear criminal record, or provide proof of application for a criminal record check (a criminal record will result in disqualification).
- Be physically fit and healthy (applicants will be subject to a fitness assessment).
- Be able to communicate in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape.
- Have own transport to and from the training facility.
- Candidates must pass a diagnostic written test, physical test, random drug test, and driving test throughout the recruitment and course period.
