Opportunity Overview

Transnet invites South African students and recent graduates to apply for its 18-month Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Trainee Programme for non-technical roles. This programme is housed within the Transnet Corporate Centre's Youth Development department and offers a chance to gain practical workplace experience in various locations, including the Eastern Cape, Durban, and Western Cape.

The WIL Trainee Programme is designed to help participants apply their academic knowledge in a real-world setting. Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this programme, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Hold a Matric certificate or equivalent qualification.
• Have completed all theoretical subjects for N4-N6 in Office Management, Human Resources, or Marketing Management.
• Be a South African citizen.
• Be between 18 and 35 years of age.
• Have no existing bursary obligations with another company.
• Possess good written and communication skills.
• Demonstrate basic computer literacy.
• Be able to work effectively within a team.
• Show problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Have a willingness to learn and develop interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities

Participants in the Work Integrated Learning Programme will gain experience in various areas, including:

• Assisting with specific projects and performing routine operational tasks under supervision.
• Supporting administrative functions, including documentation and reporting.
• Participating in training sessions, workshops, and mentorship programmes.
• Shadowing experienced professionals to gain practical insights.
• Engaging in problem-solving activities and developing analytical skills.
• Interacting with internal teams, customers, and suppliers.
• Conducting market research, data collection, and analysis to support business decisions.
• Preparing reports and presentations using MS Office tools.
• Assisting in process improvement initiatives.
• Adhering to company policies, procedures, safety regulations, and ethical standards.
