Opportunity Overview

The South African Revenue Services (SARS) is seeking a Coordinator for IT Facilities Management to join their team in Pretoria. This role contributes to SARS' strategic intent of achieving voluntary compliance by ensuring the optimal operation of critical IT infrastructure.

As part of the SARS team, you will play a vital role in managing the availability, maintenance, and repair of IT Facilities equipment across various regions. This position is based at the Pretoria Landbank Office and is essential for maintaining the high availability of SARS systems.

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this position, applicants must meet one of the following educational and experience criteria:

• Option 1:
• National Diploma/Advanced Certificate (NQF 6) in engineering (electrical, mechanical).
• 2-3 years' experience in IT Facilities Management or Built Environment, with at least 1-2 years at a knowledge worker level.
• Option 2:
• Senior Certificate.
• 5 years of IT Facilities Management or Built Environment experience, with at least 1-2 years at a knowledge worker level.

In addition, candidates must possess the following functional requirements:

• Trade Test Certificate
• Refrigeration & Air-Conditioning Certificate
• Code EB driver's license

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of tasks, including:

• Accumulating information and providing reports with recommendations for the area of specialisation.
• Applying practical and applied knowledge to identify trends and potential risks.
• Assisting with planning site improvements for Air-conditioning systems.
• Coordinating and assisting with new installations.
• Ensuring adherence to industry and SARS standards during ITF infrastructure installations and proper recording of assets.
• Ensuring efficient maintenance and repair of IT Facilities equipment in SARS Datacentres, patch rooms, and buildings.
• Ensuring optimal operation of ITF Fire and alarm systems.
• Ensuring optimum availability of IT Facilities equipment (UPS Power, Standby Power, UPS, and cooling).
• Handling repairs promptly and cost-effectively, maintaining necessary records.
• Executing process and procedural changes and providing support for new requirements.
• Liaising with vendors and consultants to ensure system effectiveness.
• Performing site assessments to proactively identify challenges and provide technical advice.
• Promptly alerting management to operational problems.
• Providing first-line support for Air-conditioning systems.
• Providing management with reports and ensuring Incident and Change management updates.
• Providing specialist input through investigating opportunities for optimisation.
• Complying with set governance and compliance procedures and processes.
