Opportunity Overview
The South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) is seeking a Brand Specialist for Good Hope FM, based in the Western Cape. This role is crucial for ensuring the station's brand remains recognisable, current, and engaging for both internal and external stakeholders.
As a Brand Specialist, you will play a key role in executing brand campaigns that align with Good Hope FM's marketing strategy. Your efforts will aim to maximise returns on revenue and audience engagement for the station.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants for this position must meet the following criteria:
- A 3-year IMM diploma or an equivalent marketing qualification (NQF Level 6).
- A Digital Marketing Qualification.
- Experience in a broadcast media environment.
- 3-5 years' experience in major marketing disciplines, including brand planning, digital marketing, advertising, and media planning.
- Demonstrated experience in online campaign management and multi-platform campaign management.
- Knowledge of media planning and advertising principles.
- Understanding of PFMA principles and supply chain processes.
- Experience in events planning and execution.
- Proficiency in social media engagement.
- Skills in budget planning and management.
Key Responsibilities
The Brand Specialist will be responsible for a range of duties, including:
- Assisting the Marketing Manager in developing and implementing the station's marketing strategy.
- Planning, launching, and maintaining a sustainable brand marketing programme.
- Monitoring competitor activity and adapting the marketing strategy as needed.
- Assisting with the development and implementation of product marketing plans.
- Liaising with on-air teams, digital specialists, and external agencies for campaign conceptualisation and implementation.
- Leveraging content to create consumer engagement opportunities and grow digital communities.
- Overseeing activations and campaigns, including tracking expenditure against budget.
- Presenting post-campaign reports and budget reconciliations to management.
- Providing regular feedback reports and presentations on marketing campaigns.
- Sourcing and analysing digital statistics for client and stakeholder feedback.
- Monitoring and reporting on operational risk and compliance matters.
- Implementing internal control measures, such as ensuring events are insured.
- Ensuring contracts and trade exchange documentation are completed and signed.
- Managing financial risks to protect organisational integrity and prevent loss.
- Liaising with media players and station service providers.
- Managing, maintaining, and expanding customer relationships.
- Championing business partner relationships and seeking ways to add value.
- Resolving customer queries and complaints in line with service standards.
- Ensuring effective briefing and communication with departmental staff for project execution.
