Opportunity Overview

The Road Accident Fund (RAF) is offering an exciting internship opportunity for unemployed graduates in Medical Management. The RAF is dedicated to providing timely and equitable assistance to individuals affected by motor vehicle accidents, ensuring financial relief and recovery through appropriate social benefits.

This 18-month internship programme is designed to provide young graduates with valuable work-based experience and contribute to youth skills development. Successful candidates will join the RAF team in Johannesburg, gaining practical exposure in the medical management division.

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this internship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Be an unemployed graduate.
• Be between 18 and 25 years of age.
• Possess a certified copy of your Grade 12 / Matric certificate.
• Hold a certified copy of a Bachelor's Degree or Advanced Diploma in Health Science or a Medical Related Qualification.
• Submit a certified copy of your Academic transcript (applications without an academic transcript will not be considered).
• Provide a certified copy of your South African ID.
• Not have previously participated in an internship programme or been employed in the field of medical management.
• Applicants with foreign qualifications must have them evaluated by the South African Qualification Authority (SAQA) and provide proof of evaluation.
• Registration with HPCSA or SANC will be an advantage.

Key Responsibilities

Interns will gain practical experience in various aspects of Medical Management, including:

• Drafting and activating undertakings.
• Conducting bill reviews and pre-authorisations.
• Assisting with the drafting of treatment plans.
• Performing medical payment assessments.
• Managing caregiver payments.
• Assessing trust and curator payments.
