3. Key Responsibilities

As an OHS Inspector: Electrical Engineering, you will be responsible for a range of critical duties, including:

• Planning and independently conducting inspections to ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Act 85 of 1993, its regulations, and incorporated standards.
• Confirming the registration of entities with the Unemployment Insurance Act and the Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act.
• Planning, investigating, and finalising incidents and complaints reported under the OHS Act and relevant regulations, including enforcement actions and appearing in court as a State witness when necessary.
• Planning and conducting proactive inspections as per schedule to monitor compliance with relevant labour legislation, and compiling and consolidating reports from these inspections.
• Planning and independently conducting advocacy campaigns on all labour legislations, analysing their impact, and compiling consolidated reports.
• Contributing at a higher level to the planning, drafting, and maintenance of regional inspection plans and reports, including executing analyses and compiling consolidated statistical reports on regional and allocated cases.
