Opportunity Overview
The Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA) is seeking Part-Time Interpreters to serve as Independent Contractors for its offices in the North West Province. This opportunity is available in Rustenburg, Klerksdorp, and Mafikeng.
The core purpose of this role is to provide essential interpreter services that facilitate successful outcomes of CCMA activities, assisting Commissioners and other CCMA structures. Interpreters will be compensated at a rate of R970.84 per day for their services.
Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this opportunity, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Matric Certificate
- Relevant certificate at NQF Level 5 in Communication or Languages
- One (1) to three (3) years of relevant working experience as an Interpreter
- Proficiency in at least three South African languages (Oral, Read, and Write)
Specific language proficiencies are required for each office location:
- Rustenburg Office: English, IsiZulu, and IsiXhosa
- Klerksdorp Office: English, Afrikaans, IsiXhosa, and Setswana
- Mafikeng Office: English, Setswana, and IsiXhosa
Key Responsibilities
The Part-Time Interpreter will be responsible for:
- Providing verbal interpretations during hearings.
- Performing administrative support functions as required.
