South African National Parks (SANPARKS) is looking for a dedicated Manager for their Human Capital Management division. This permanent position is based at the Groenkloof National Park Head Office in Pretoria.

This role involves providing comprehensive human capital services by collaborating with various business units. You will offer support, guidance, and strategic advice to line managers and employees across the organisation, contributing significantly to increasing overall organisational effectiveness within SANPARKS.

Minimum Requirements

  • Degree in Human Resource Management & Development
  • 4 – 6 years of generalist HR experience
  • Registration with relevant professional bodies

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development of HCM policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), frameworks, and practices.
  • Facilitate consultation processes.
  • Raise awareness and capacitate line managers on new and reviewed HCM policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Advise line management on HR practices, policies, and processes to ensure legal compliance and foster a productive workforce.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the strategic HCM plan in consultation with line management.
  • Ensure alignment of divisional/park operational plans to the HCM operational plan.
  • Deliver on the HCM Business Partnering service delivery model.
  • Contribute to the development of a talent acquisition and retention strategy.
  • Analyse metrics and HR data trends to proactively resolve people-related challenges and improve retention.
  • Manage and coordinate the forecasting of the organisation’s human capital requirements to meet strategic objectives.
  • Manage and coordinate the development and implementation of the recruitment and selection process.
  • Support line managers during probation and ensure the quality of induction processes.
  • Coach managers on feedback, career development, compensation trends, and succession planning.
  • Diagnose skill gaps, manage change initiatives during restructuring, and design optimal team structures.
  • Manage data sourced from all exit processes (retirements, resignations, incapacity due to ill health, deaths) for continuous improvement.
  • Administer processes facilitating employee movement (deployment, transfers, promotions, and secondment) within the organisation, ensuring full compliance.
  • Coordinate, participate in, and implement all HCM programmes, including Employee Wellness (EW), Organisational Development (OD), Learning and Development (L&D), Employee Relations, and Employment Equity (EE) & Transformation.
  • Compile regional Training Needs Analysis (TNA) reports and intervention plans based on allocated budgets.
  • Participate and contribute to regional Employment Equity Skills Development Forums (EESDF).
  • Assist with audit responses and the implementation of all HCM-related audit remedial action plans to ensure compliance.
  • Resolve complex workplace conflicts and maintain employee relations and compliance.

As the Manager: Human Capital Management, you will play a crucial role in shaping the people strategy at SANPARKS' Head Office in Groenkloof, Pretoria.
