Opportunity Overview
The Department of Employment and Labour is offering a contract opportunity for a Senior Practitioner in Human Resource Development and Performance Management. This three-year contract position is based in the Provincial Office, Western Cape.
The role involves coordinating key HR initiatives within the province, specifically focusing on human resource development and the provincial performance management system. It also includes the implementation of crucial learnership and internship programmes.
Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Education: An undergraduate qualification in Human Resource Management/Development/Training and Development/Management of Training/Public Management/Industrial and Organisational Psychology at NQF Level 6 as recognised by SAQA.
- Experience: Two (2) years’ functional experience in Human Resources Management/Training and Development/Performance Management Services.
- Advantage: A valid Driver's Licence will be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Coordinating the implementation of Human Resource Development initiatives in the province.
- Coordinating the implementation of the Performance Management System in the province.
- Implementing Internships/Learnership Programmes and Induction Programmes.
- Managing resources (Human, Finance, Equipment/Assets) within the Division.
What the Work Involves
As a Senior Practitioner, you will be instrumental in overseeing and driving human resource development within the Western Cape province. This includes coordinating various HR initiatives and ensuring the effective implementation of the province's performance management system.
A key part of your role will be putting learnership and internship programmes into action, as well as managing induction processes for new employees. You will also be responsible for managing divisional resources, including human capital, finances, equipment, and assets. The work is primarily based in the Provincial Office in the Western Cape.
