The South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) is inviting applications for a Management Accountant position within its Finance division. This role reports directly to the Senior Financial Manager (Sales) and is critical for ensuring the accurate and timely collection and capture of all financial transactions and data on the SABC system.

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this position, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Qualifications:
• A National Diploma or Degree in Finance, or an equivalent qualification at NQF Level 6/7.
• An Honours Degree in Financial Management or an equivalent qualification will be an added advantage.
• Experience:
• A minimum of 3 years' experience in a finance environment.
• At least 1 year of this experience must have been at a supervisory level.
• Knowledge & Skills:
• Comprehensive understanding of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and Tax regulations.
• Familiarity with SABC policies and procedures.
• Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff, management, and external parties.
• Proficiency in computer skills, including SAP and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong customer service orientation.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of financial duties, including:

• Optimising the financial accounting function to ensure maximum efficiency and accurate, timely financial reporting.
• Preparing and reviewing monthly sales financial reports, and analysing actual income and expenditure.
• Reviewing financial reconciliations and implementing corrective actions promptly.
• Coordinating with the Sales division to compile annual budgets and contribute to future financial planning.
• Ensuring the processing of all financial transactions adheres to SABC's financial policies and accounting procedures.
• Reviewing and actioning requests from internal and external auditors, and conducting ad-hoc financial investigations.
• Processing data into the financial system, managing the General Ledger Book, and administering Capital Expenditure (Capex).
• Maintaining the Fixed Asset Register and managing monthly General Ledger Reconciliation.
• Preparing monthly Creditors Reconciliation, month-end, and various ad-hoc reports.
• Calculating and preparing monthly sales levies, managing cash flow, and authorising freelance payments.
• Analysing and approving personal claims, reviewing and approving purchase requisitions, and approving sundry payments.
• Ensuring all financial transactions comply with IFRS, relevant legislation, delegation of authority frameworks, and SABC policies.
• Providing advice and guidance to stations on finance processes and policies.
• Supervising the daily operations of the finance sales department and providing support to the sales division.
