Opportunity Overview

Iziko Museums Of South Africa, a Schedule 3A Public Entity, is inviting applications from suitably qualified individuals to serve on its Audit and Risk Committee (ARC). This committee plays a crucial role in the governance of the organisation.

Successful candidates will serve a term of office for a minimum of three years, not exceeding two terms. A National Treasury regulated remuneration fee is payable to all committee members for their service. The Chairperson of the ARC will be appointed from the successful candidates.

Minimum Requirements

Candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Possess 5 – 10 years of executive management experience in one or more of these fields:
• Financial Management
• Risk Management
• Internal Controls
• External Audit Process
• Governance
• Sustainability Reporting
• Information Communication Technology
• Hold a relevant postgraduate qualification in Accounting, Auditing, Risk Management, Governance, ICT, or a related field (advantageous).
• Have professional membership with a recognised body (advantageous).
• Applicants who are Chartered Accountants (CAs) or have previous experience serving in Audit and Risk Committees are strongly encouraged to apply.
• Must be independent and have no conflict of interest with Iziko Museums of South Africa.

Key Responsibilities

As an Audit and Risk Committee Member, you will:

• Serve on the Audit and Risk Committee of Iziko Museums of South Africa.
• Provide strategic oversight and expertise in areas of Financial Management, Risk Management, and Internal Controls.
• Contribute to the committee's functions concerning External Audit Processes, Governance, Sustainability Reporting, and Information Communication Technology.
