Opportunity Overview
The Gauteng Treasury Department invites unemployed South African graduates to apply for its 2026 to 2028 Internship Programme. This programme offers valuable work experience within a government environment.
This is a non-renewable contract for a period of twenty-four (24) months, providing interns with a practical foundation in their chosen fields. Interns will receive an annual stipend for their participation.
Minimum Requirements
To be eligible for these internships, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be an unemployed South African graduate.
- Be in possession of a completed National Diploma, Bachelor’s degree, or Honour’s degree in one of the following fields:
- Information Communication Technology (ICT) or related fields (NQF 6/7)
- 3D Animation, Motion Graphics Designer, Graphic Designer, UI / UX Designer (National Diploma / 1 to 2 year Certificate)
- Photography, Videography Video editing (National Diploma / 1 to 2 year Certificate)
- Audio Engineering and Sound production or related courses in the Audio visual sector (National Diploma / 1 to 2 year Certificate)
- Finance, Financial Information Systems, Information Technology (NQF 6/7)
- Human Resource Management/Development, Public Administration, Public Management (NQF 6/7)
- Risk, Audit, Law (NQF 6/7)
- Business Administration, Office Administration, Public Administration, Public Management (NQF 6/7)
- Finance, Financial Information Systems, Information Technology (NQF 6/7)
Key Responsibilities
Interns will gain practical exposure and contribute to various departmental functions. The available internship opportunities focus on areas such as:
- Information Communication Technology
- Communications, including specialisations like 3D Animation, Graphic Design, Photography, Videography, and Audio Engineering
- Financial Information Management Systems
- Human Resource Management Systems
- Compliance (Norms and Standards)
- Internal Audit Committees
- Financial Automation Management Systems
