Opportunity Overview

The Compensation Fund, operating under the Department of Employment and Labour, is inviting applications for a Senior Admin Officer in Admin Services based in Pretoria. Minimum Requirements

Candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Education: An undergraduate qualification (NQF Level 6) as recognised by SAQA in Public Management, Public Administration, Office Administration, Business Administration, or Business Management. A Charted Secretariat Certificate will be considered an added advantage.
  • Experience: At least 2 years of functional experience in Executive Support or Administration Support within a Support Services environment.
  • Knowledge:
  • Public Service Regulations, Public Service Act, and National Treasury Regulations.
  • Governance, Monitoring and Assurance, and Fund Governance and Risk Management.
  • COIDA (Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act).
  • Batho Pele Principles, technical knowledge, and administration procedures and techniques.
  • Skills Development and Budgeting and Financial Management.
  • Skills:
  • Report Writing and Project Management.
  • Planning and Coordination, as well as Planning & Organising.
  • Communication, Customer Services, and Stakeholder Coordination.
  • Recording and Scribing, Facilitation, and Conflict Management.
  • Computer Literacy, Interpersonal Relationship, and Decision Making.
  • Note: Priority will be given to Persons with disability, Indians, and Whites.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating the effective implementation of Compensation Fund (CF) improvement initiatives plans.
  • Providing Secretariat Support and liaising with all relevant stakeholders to maintain sound relations between the CF, the Ministry, and Parliament.
  • Coordinating licensee performance reporting.
  • Supervision of Staff.

What the Work Involves

As a Senior Admin Officer, you will be based at the Compensation Fund's offices in Pretoria, working within a structured administrative environment. Your day-to-day work will involve overseeing and driving the execution of various improvement plans for the Fund, ensuring that strategic administrative goals are met. You will play a central role in facilitating communication between the Compensation Fund and critical external bodies like the Ministry and Parliament by preparing documents and managing communications.
