The Department of Employment and Labour is seeking a dedicated Chief Security Officer for its Mmabatho Provincial Office. This is a one-year contract position offering a stipend of R338 106 per annum, plus 37% in lieu of benefits.

Minimum Requirements

  • Three (3) year National Diploma (NQF6) or Undergraduate Bachelor Degree (NQF7) in Security or Security Risk Management.
  • Grade B Security Certificate and PSIRA registration.
  • One-year functional clerical or administrative experience in Security Training Services or Security Management Services.
  • Knowledge of: Departmental Policies and Procedures, Criminal Procedure Act, Tender Procedures, Safety and Security, Damage and Loss control, Supply Chain Management, Accommodation procedures, National Strategic Intelligence Act, National Key Points Act, Firearms Control Act, OHS Act, Access to Public Premises and Vehicle Act, Public Finance Management Act, Labour Relations Act, and Basic Conditions of Employment Act.
  • Skills in: Management, Computer Literacy, Project Management, Innovation, Conflict Resolution and Negotiation, Diversity Facilitation, and Communication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor the safety of officials and assets within the Department.
  • Administer access control to the building.
  • Manage the control room and key control systems.
  • Provide administrative support services for the security sub-directorate.
  • Conduct security standby duties and after-hours inspections.
  • Manage resources within the security division.

What the Work Involves
