Opportunity Overview

The Compensation Fund, operating under the Department of Employment and Labour, is seeking a dedicated individual to join their team as an Assistant Director for HR Planning and Employment Equity in Pretoria. Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Education: An undergraduate qualification (NQF Level 6) in Human Resource Management or Personnel Management, as recognised by SAQA.
  • Certificates: A PERSAL certificate in Establishment.
  • Experience:
  • A minimum of 4 years functional experience in Human Resource Administration, specifically in Employment Equity, Management of Establishment, and HR Planning.
  • At least 2 years of this experience must have been at a supervisory level.
  • Knowledge:
  • Human Resource Management Methodology, Principles and Strategies.
  • Digital Acumen and relevant HRM systems, learning systems, and performance systems.
  • DEL and Compensation Fund business strategies and goals, including COIDA and DPSA Directives.
  • Customer Service Principles (Batho Pele Principles).
  • Technical HR knowledge, Budgeting and Financial Management.
  • Labour Relations Act, Employment Equity Act, Basic Conditions of Employment Act.
  • Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), National Treasury regulations, Preferential Procurement Policy Framework.
  • Promotion of Access to Information Act, Promotion of Administrative Justice Act (PAJA), Minimum Information Security Standard (MISS).
  • Public Service Act and Public Service Regulation.
  • Skills: Coaching and Mentoring, Conflict Management, Critical and Innovation Thinking, Inspiring Commitment, People Management, Performance and Oversight, Programme/Project Management, Quality Assurance, Risk Management, Service Delivery Innovation, Stakeholder Development & Relations, Vision & Strategy.

Key Responsibilities

The Assistant Director will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating and managing Human Resource Operations Planning and Controls.
  • Coordinating Human Resource Audits and performing Human Resource reconciliation.
  • Coordinating and facilitating the collection of data for Employment Equity (EE).
  • Coordinating and maintaining the PERSAL establishment within the Fund.
  • Managing HR Records.
  • Managing resources within the Sub-directorate.
