Opportunity Overview
The Department of Employment and Labour's Provincial Office in East London is offering a significant opportunity for an Administrative Officer: Employer Services Officer. This role is crucial in supporting various aspects of employer services, including international cross-border labour migration processes and fostering strong stakeholder relationships.
The successful candidate will play a key role in coordinating placement opportunities and providing essential operational support for end-users of Employment Services of South Africa (ESSA). This position is ideal for individuals looking to contribute to vital labour services within a government setting.
Minimum Requirements
- Education: A three (3) year tertiary qualification in Social Sciences (Psychology), Public Administration, or Business Administration.
- Experience: One (1) year of functional experience in Recruitment Services.
- Knowledge: Understanding of Human Resource Management, ILO Convention, Financial Management, and Skills Development.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, computer literacy, effective communication (both verbal and written), planning and organising abilities, and report writing skills.
- Selection Priority: Preference will be given to African Males, White Males, and White Females. Consideration will also be given to Coloured Males, Coloured Females, Indian Males, Indian Females, and People with Disabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise the provision of administrative support for processing applications related to International Cross-Border Labour Migration.
- Render administrative support for stakeholder relations specifically in the acquisition of placement opportunities.
- Provide operational support for capacity building of ESSA end-users.
- Coordinate large (provisional) opportunities identified from key stakeholders and the Department of Employment and Labour's placement services.
What the Work Involves
As an Administrative Officer: Employer Services Officer, you will be deeply involved in the day-to-day administration of services that connect job seekers with opportunities and manage international labour migration. This includes supervising the administrative process for international cross-border labour migration applications, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
You will also provide crucial administrative support for building and maintaining relationships with various stakeholders to secure placement opportunities. A key part of your role will involve coordinating large opportunities identified from these stakeholders and the Department's own placement services, all while offering operational support to ESSA end-users within the Provincial Office in East London.
