  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the Compensation Occupation Injuries and Diseases Act (COIDA), Group Life Insurance Scheme (GLIS) Policies, and medical administration processes for the regular force.
  • Computer literacy, including proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, Internet access, MS Excel, and mainframe systems.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Customer orientation.
  • Proven supervisory experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent telephone etiquette.
  • Ability to obtain a confidential security clearance within 12 months of appointment.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s licence is recommended.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer injury and disease cases for Defence Act Personnel (DAP) and Public Service Act Personnel (PSAP) sustained while on duty.
  • Manage personnel losses, funerals, and the Group Life Insurance Scheme (GLIS).
  • Process and approve the inclusion or re-inclusion of dependants of Defence Act Personnel (DAP) for medical privileges.
  • Attend required meetings.
  • Inspect all registers maintained by clerks within the section.
  • Compile and update post profiles and duty sheets for all positions in the Medical Section.
  • Assess and supervise subordinates' performance, identifying strengths, weaknesses, and training needs to manage performance effectively.
  • Support subordinates with career management, encouraging development and promotion opportunities.
  • Nominate Medical Section staff for relevant training courses.
  • Investigate critical enquiries and draft replies for higher authority signature.
  • Complete bi-annual performance assessments for all subordinates and generate related reports.
