Opportunity Overview
The City of Johannesburg Metro, through its Group Corporate & Shared Services (GCSS) and Group Human Capital Management branch, is offering a permanent career opportunity as a Specialist: Performance Management. This role is crucial for ensuring the effective management and support of performance across various City departments.
This position involves leading the Performance Management function, including the formulation, monitoring, and evaluation of policies. The Specialist will provide essential technical leadership and support to departments, overseeing the systems and processes that drive business effectiveness and the achievement of departmental objectives.
Minimum Requirements
- Matric/Grade 12
- Degree in Human Resources Management or a related field (NQF Level 7)
- 6 to 8 years or more of relevant experience covering a broad range of Human Resources functions
- At least 3 years of supervisory experience
- Valid driver's license
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Performance Management (PM) function.
- Formulate, monitor, and evaluate the implementation of PM policies.
- Provide technical leadership and support to City departments on Group Performance Management for individuals.
- Oversee systems and processes related to Performance, strategic planning, activity design, and quality control/assurance.
- Lead and manage the development of appropriate PM strategies, business plans, policies, and procedures.
- Ensure communication of PM strategies, business plans, policies, and procedures to relevant stakeholders.
- Implement a Performance Management communication strategy aimed at creating awareness and keeping all stakeholders informed.
