This full-time, permanent position is for a Coordinator within UWC's Centre for Business Development, which falls under the Finance & Services department. The role involves contributing to the University's business development objectives and supporting revenue-generating activities. This position is suited for an individual who thrives in a demanding and deadline-focused work environment, reporting directly to the Director of the Business Development Office.

Minimum Requirements

  • A BCom Degree (NQF 7) with accounting-related subjects.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a revenue accounting and property lease/contracts administration role.
  • A valid Code 8 Driver's License with at least 2 years of driving experience.
  • Demonstrable professional and effective work etiquette.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Good computer literacy.

Key Responsibilities

The Coordinator: Business Development will be responsible for a range of tasks, including:

  • Providing support and input for processes related to UWC's business development goals.
  • Assisting in the implementation of revenue activity policies and business processes.
  • Contributing to feasibility studies for potential new business opportunities.
  • Providing input for management reports to governance structures and management teams.
  • Contributing to communications regarding revenue activity matters for the campus community.
  • Offering input on complex or contentious revenue matters and projects.
  • Finance Related:
  • Providing administrative support and input for revenue diversification initiatives.
  • Extracting and supplying data for management dashboard reporting.
  • Assisting the Business Development invoicing and debtors team.
  • Preparing and/or reviewing monthly finance reconciliations for management review.
  • Property and Tenant Related:
  • Overseeing the administration of the lease register and repository, facilitating amendments for audit and governance.
  • Drafting new lease contracts or updates for management review.
  • Reviewing finance information and the Finance system for pending rental renewals.
  • Extracting and preparing property and tenant information for management.
  • Providing administrative support and recording minutes during engagements on retail and student accommodation projects.
  • Preparing information for management's attendance at body corporate meetings and attending meetings when requested.
  • Facilitating the review and settlement of body corporate and/or company expenses and recoveries.
  • Extracting information for utility recoveries on infrastructure projects.
  • Attending to and facilitating the resolution of tenant and related enquiries.
  • Supporting management in completing statutory requirements.
  • New Business Opportunities/Entrepreneurship:
  • Receiving and facilitating communications for new business applications.
  • Providing administrative support for the evaluation of new business applications.
  • Continuing Education (CE) Courses:
  • Providing input into CE templates and budget calculations.
  • Managing the CE overhead collection process for management review.
  • Special Projects:
  • Providing administrative support for special projects focused on revenue generation and financial sustainability.
  • Intellectual Property and Royalties:
  • Overseeing the administration of royalty agreements and organising data extraction for royalty income calculations and collection.
