Postbank is offering a Learnership Programme designed to create opportunities for unemployed matriculants to gain practical workplace experience and establish a career in the banking sector. This programme is offered as part of the Bank SETA Discretionary Funding for Banks and contributing members to the Bank SETA.

This initiative provides a structured learning environment, allowing participants to kick-start their professional journey in banking while acquiring valuable skills and knowledge.

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this learnership opportunity, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Hold a Grade 12 Certificate (NQF Level 4)
• Be a South African citizen
• Be an unemployed matriculant with no or limited work experience (0-6 months)
• Explicitly indicate Bloemfontein and surrounding locations as their base location
• Be willing to be enrolled onto the Senior Certificate in Banking
• Possess basic computer literacy
• Have basic functional and applied knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Be able to engage and interact in English
• Demonstrate good communication and influencing skills

Key Responsibilities

As a learnership participant, you will be involved in various activities to build your banking experience, including:

• Assisting with day-to-day entry-level operations tasks and administrative duties
• Providing support in areas such as the Call Centre and other departmental initiatives
• Capturing, updating, and maintaining records
• Preparing correspondence and documentation
• Participating in training, workshops, and development activities
• Adhering to company policies, procedures, and professional standards
• Attending classes for the theoretical learning component
• Successfully completing formative and summative assessments and submitting a Portfolio of Evidence (POE)
