Minimum Requirements

To be considered for the Refinery Apprenticeship Programme, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Matric certificate with Mathematics and Science.
  • N2/N3 qualification with relevant Engineering Trade Theory subjects.

  • Possess a good work ethic, passion, and self-confidence.

Key Responsibilities

Apprentices will learn and contribute to various critical tasks depending on their chosen trade category:

Fitter Apprenticeship

  • Assembling, installing, and repairing machinery, structural components, and piping systems.
  • Studying blueprints and using specialized hand and power tools to cut, shape, and fit metal parts.
  • Ensuring production equipment functions safely and efficiently.

Instrumentation Apprenticeship

  • Designing, calibrating, installing, and maintaining sensors, gauges, and automated control systems.
  • Measuring and regulating industrial processes within the plant.
  • Ensuring machines operate safely, accurately, and at maximum efficiency.

Millwright Apprenticeship

  • Installing, maintaining, dismantling, and repairing industrial machinery and equipment.
  • Working across factories to ensure heavy-duty machines and moving parts operate smoothly, safely, and efficiently.
