Key Responsibilities

• Process daily orders through EDI (Electronic Data Interchange).
• Provide administrative assistance to the category buyer.
• Load new products onto the system.
• Action order exception reports and non-deliveries daily.
• Process store orders and supplier-signed and stamped orders.
• Input additional demands and promotional deal start and end dates.
• Maintain item information for existing products as required.
• Assist retailers with product or promotional information.
• Conduct daily telesales and monitor short-dated and ageing stock.

What the Work Involves

Minimum Requirements

• Education: National Senior Certificate (Matric). A Diploma or Degree in Purchasing or Commerce is recommended. A Bachelor's Degree in Marketing is also listed as an educational requirement.
• Experience:
• Minimum 5 years’ working experience in the liquor industry.
• Previous F.M.C.G. (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) buying experience.
• Skills: Sound interpersonal and communication skills, thorough knowledge of buying systems and processes, comprehensive knowledge of product range requirements within a supermarket environment, proven negotiating skills, strong drive, initiative and creativity, hands-on approach to problems and solutions, administrative skills, financial skills, computer literacy, attention to detail, coaching and mentoring, building strategic working relationships, customer-focused, effective decision-making skills, gaining commitment, influential skills. Knowledge of the SAP system would be beneficial.
