Opportunity Overview
The South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA) is looking for a dedicated professional to join their team in Centurion as a Manager: International Relations. This role is crucial for managing the SACAA's global engagement and ensuring South Africa's presence in international civil aviation matters.
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing diplomatic relations, fostering global collaboration with various international and local stakeholders. This is an opportunity to contribute significantly to the country's aviation agenda on a global scale.
Minimum Requirements
- A National Diploma in International Relations, Political Science, or an equivalent relevant qualification.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the planning, coordinating, and implementing of international relations, diplomatic engagements, and global collaboration with international and relevant local stakeholders.
- Implement a comprehensive International Relations Strategy and Plan.
- Coordinate all international relations activities.
- Conduct background research on international aviation policies, foreign civil aviation, and global trends.
- Monitor global events and provide briefing notes or summaries for senior officials.
- Compile briefing documents for international missions/bilateral for the Minister/DCA.
- Facilitate and coordinate State Letters.
- Identify gaps and coordinate stakeholder interventions.
- Assist in providing opportunities to build professional networks with international colleagues, organisations, and stakeholders.
- Assist in developing international partnerships, collaborations, and agreements.
- Support the organisation of international visits, conferences, workshops, and diplomatic events.
- Manage the relationship with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), including preparing for and participating in audits.
- Act as a key point of contact for the African Civil Aviation Commission (AFCAC), promoting regional cooperation.
- Compile monthly and quarterly reports and ensure accuracy and timely submission.
- Develop and implement the SACAA's international engagement strategy in alignment with national policies and directives.
- Ensure compliance with applicable government or related protocol requirements.
