Opportunity Overview

The Road Accident Fund (RAF) is offering an 18-month Facilities Management Internship in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. The RAF's mission is to provide timely and fair assistance to those affected by motor vehicle accidents, offering social benefits for financial relief and recovery.

This internship is part of the RAF's commitment to youth skills development, aiming to provide unemployed graduates with valuable work-based experience. The role is targeted to promote employment equity, with a preference given to People with Disabilities.

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this internship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Be between 18 and 25 years of age.
• Be unemployed.
• Have no prior work experience in the Facilities Management field.
• Must not have previously participated in an internship in this field.
• Possess a certified Grade 12/NQF 4 level certificate.
• Hold a certified copy of a relevant Diploma, Advanced Diploma, or Bachelor’s Degree in Facilities Management or a related discipline.
• Provide a certified copy of your ID.
• Submit a certified copy of your academic transcript.
• Applicants with foreign qualifications must have them evaluated by the South African Qualification Authority (SAQA) and provide proof of evaluation.
• Only the first 100 applications will be considered.

Key Responsibilities

The successful intern will gain work-based exposure and experience in various aspects of Facilities Management, which may include:

• Maintaining inventory control.
• Providing Asset Management support.
• Assisting with Fleet Management.
• Offering general Facilities Support.
• Learning about Human Resource Management related to facilities.
• Understanding and applying Policies and Procedures.
• Assisting with space and Parking Management.
• Supporting contract administration.
• Processing accounts payments on SAP.
• Contributing to monthly reports.
• Providing support on Facilities Management project undertakings.
• Administering insurance claims on RAF property.
