Opportunity Overview

The National Home Builders Registration Council (NHBRC) is offering a permanent position for a Payroll and Benefits Administrator based in Sunninghill. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth and accurate processing of payroll and benefits information for all employees.

As a Payroll and Benefits Administrator, you will be responsible for providing efficient data processing and administrative support to the payroll and benefits section. This includes maintaining accurate employee records and contributing to the timeous and correct payment of salaries to all staff.

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this opportunity, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Matric/Grade 12 Certificate
  • Minimum of a National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Human Resources, IT, or Finance
  • Minimum of three (3) years operational administration experience
  • Minimum of three (3) years operational payroll experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Proficiency in SAP

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of duties, including but not limited to:

  • Providing support to team members and supervisors within their area of competence.
  • Processing all documentation according to company policies, procedures, and document control principles within specified time frames.
  • Administering salary payments.
  • Capturing and updating employee personal information on the payroll system and personal files.
  • Guiding employees on the application, administration, and interpretation of the Company’s benefit funds and rules for package structuring.
  • Administering COIDA processes.
  • Reconciling and paying third parties such as PAYE, UIF, SDL, Medical Aid, and Provident Fund.
  • Handling staff queries related to salaries and payments.
  • Ensuring compliance with required standards and deadlines.
  • Assisting finance and auditors with payroll-related information.
  • Distributing IRP 5s to current and ex-employees.
  • Assisting with pay slips when required.
  • Distributing provident fund statements and increase letters.
  • Facilitating and administering death claims and disability benefits, including liaising with funds and families to ensure funeral claims are paid promptly.
  • Loading and processing payments on the Banking system.
  • Ensuring withdrawal forms are sent, received, and submitted within the payment period upon employee termination.
  • Checking onboarding files received from recruitment.
  • Checking and verifying payroll processing files.
  • Linking all new employees’ salary and benefits on the ERP system.
  • Administering leave to ensure employees are paid correctly.
  • Compiling and submitting the quarterly Stats SA survey.
  • Responding to audit requests and queries.
  • Ensuring that employee records are maintained.
  • Participating in identifying risks within the area of responsibility.
  • Building, supporting, and maintaining healthy internal and external relationships.
  • Providing relevant support to stakeholders.
  • Liaising with internal employees and external service providers regarding payroll issues.
  • Inducting employees on payroll, benefits, and IOD policies and procedures.
