Opportunity Overview
The Mpumalanga Economic Growth Agency (MEGA) is a public entity established under the MEGA Act No 1 of 2010, operating within the Mpumalanga Department of Economic Development and Tourism (DEDT). MEGA is mandated to drive sustainable economic development investments and empowerment projects, aiming to improve lives, reduce poverty and unemployment, and address human settlement inequalities across the Mpumalanga Province.
MEGA is currently undergoing an organizational repositioning and transformation process to implement the provincial government's economic investment and empowerment strategy. The agency is seeking a qualified Funding Analyst to join its team in Secunda.
This permanent position involves providing essential financial and non-financial support to businesses and individuals. The role focuses on SMME, Agriculture, and Housing applications, contributing to the strategic objectives of the Funding Division.
Minimum Requirements
- A three (3) year Degree in Business Management, Finance, Economics, Agricultural Science, or an equivalent qualification in a related field.
- A postgraduate qualification in a related field is an added advantage.
- Three (3) years of experience in Finance, Agricultural Development, Business Management/Administration, or Banking.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide financial and non-financial support to businesses and individuals for SMME, Agriculture, and Housing applications.
- Coordinate the loan process from the initial application stage through to monitoring and repayments.
- Offer non-financial support by facilitating training and collaborating with other stakeholders to promote client business growth and sustainability.
- Ensure the implementation of the Funding Division's development strategy to expand the customer base and loan book.
- Provide funding solutions regarding products, services, tools, and systems, guiding applicants throughout the application process.
- Present accurate business and home loan advice to potential applicants, aligning with MEGA’s funding criteria.
