Opportunity Overview
The Mining Qualifications Authority (MQA) is a Sector Education and Training Authority (SETA) operating under the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET). The MQA is mandated to drive skills development within South Africa's dynamic mining and minerals sector. This encompasses a broad spectrum of sub-sectors, including Coal Mining, Gold Mining, Platinum Group Metals (PGM) Mining, Diamond Mining, Cement, Lime, Aggregates, Sand, Diamond Processing, and Jewellery Manufacturing.
This Administrator: Quality Assurance role is crucial for providing robust and efficient administrative support to the Quality Assurance unit. The successful candidate will play a key part in ensuring that all information and records are accurate, comprehensive, and readily accessible, thereby contributing to the effective delivery of skills development initiatives across the sector.
Minimum Requirements
- National Senior Certificate (NSC) or National Certificate (Vocational) [NCV] (NQF Level 4).
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience.
- A National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Human Resources Management, Human Resource Development, Public Management, or Business Administration is preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office and MS Project.
- Knowledge of Skills Development Legislations and work-based learning regulations.
- Understanding of QCTO (Quality Council for Trades and Occupations) and AQP (Assessment Quality Partner) roles and responsibilities.
- Knowledge of assessment, certification, and accreditation processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all records and information to ensure accessibility, accuracy, and comprehensiveness.
- Prepare and draft minutes, reports, briefs, presentations, and various written communications.
- Manage and maintain electronic and hardcopy filing systems.
- Coordinate and organise relevant meetings.
- Make travel arrangements for the team.
- Arrange logistics for stakeholder engagement sessions and capacity building activities.
- Coordinate all stakeholder-related queries, including walk-ins.
- Administer and process requisitions and invoices using required Supply Chain Management (SCM) and Finance systems.
- Effectively plan, coordinate, manage, and execute ad hoc projects and provide telephonic assistance.
- Assist with confirming learner enrolments.
- Print completions and submit Statements of Results (SORs) to the QCTO for certification.
- Assist in the distribution and collection of assessment instruments from assessment centres.
- Support pack preparation for compliance and monitoring visits.
- Assist with the printing of learnerships, skills programmes, and re-issues.
- Support the distribution of certificates to accredited Skills Development Providers (SDPs) and Trade Test Centres (TTCs).
- Assist with certification applications and recommendations to QCTO.
- Verify learner certification achievements.
- Assist in enhancing communication and information dissemination both internally and externally.
- Control and maintain an effective document filing and retrieval system, including continuous review and updates.
