The Kwazulu Natal Department Of Cooperative Governance And Traditional Affairs is inviting applications for the critical role of Chief Director: Human Resource Management and Development. This senior management position offers an opportunity to lead and contribute significantly to human resource strategies within the department.

This vacancy is based in Pietermaritzburg and seeks a highly experienced and qualified professional to oversee human resource functions, ensuring alignment with public service regulations and departmental objectives.

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this position, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• A Bachelor's Degree or NQF Level 7 qualification in Human Resource Management, as recognised by SAQA.
• At least 5 years of experience at a senior managerial level within a Human Resource Management and Development environment.
• Possession of an SMS Pre-entry certificate (Nyukela) from the National School of Government (NSG). This certificate must be submitted prior to appointment.
• A valid Driver's licence.
• Sound knowledge of the RSA Constitution, Public Service Act, Public Service Regulations, Public Finance Management Act, Labour Relations Act, Employee Performance and Management System, and Basic Conditions of Employment Act.
• Familiarity with Project Management Principles, Youth Development Policy, National and Provincial practice Notes, Supply Chain Management practices and procedures, Promotion of Access to Information Act, Service Delivery frameworks, Promotion of Administration Justice Act, Skills Development Act, and the National Skills Development Strategy.
