Opportunity Overview
The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) is offering a permanent position for a Licensing Officer based in Mahikeng, North West. This role provides critical support for the licensing process within ICASA, specifically focusing on Class ECS/ECNS Licenses and the Postal Service Sector, including Unreserved Postal Service licenses.
This is an opportunity to contribute to the regulatory environment of telecommunications and postal services in South Africa, working within ICASA's regional office. The successful candidate will play a key role in license administration and stakeholder engagement.
Minimum Requirements
- A Higher Certificate (NQF Level 5) in Telecommunications, Electronic Engineering, Information and Communications Technology, Public Administration, Business Administration, or Law.
- 4-5 years of working experience in Licensing Administration, Compliance, or Regulatory Enforcement.
- A valid Driver's License.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and issue pre-assigned license applications and class license applications (ECS/ECNS and Unreserved Postal Services).
- Issue pre-assigned radio frequency spectrum licenses within ICASA’s scope.
- Manage the Spectrum Licensing Database.
- Handle queries and complaints effectively.
- Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain the organisational licensing filing system.
- Participate in Organisational Council Committees.
