Opportunity Overview

The Government Technical Advisory Centre (GTAC) is looking for a dedicated Governance Management Secretariat to join their team in Pretoria. This permanent position plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and effective operation of the Centre’s key governance structures.

Minimum Requirements

  • A relevant 3-year National Diploma (NQF 6) qualification in Public Administration, Office Administration, or a related qualification in fields of Corporate Governance.
  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in secretariat, governance, office administration, or operational support.
  • Demonstrated experience in coordinating administrative processes, records management, meeting and event logistics, contract administration, and related internal submissions.
  • Experience in the Public Service or a public-sector environment.
  • Experience in providing support within a governance, compliance, performance reporting, or project-coordination environment will be an advantage.
  • Applicants must be South African Citizens or Permanent Residents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Schedule and administer arrangements for GTAC’s governance structures, including MANCO, OMM, and Risk Management Committee meetings.
  • Provide administrative support to Committee meetings, which involves preparing agendas and information packs, drafting general correspondence, and sourcing/circulating documents.
  • Provide secretariat support services to GTAC governance structures, including recording, preparing, and circulating minutes of discussions and decisions.
  • Conduct quality assurance and analysis of action minutes to track progress, and perform quality assurance of governance dashboards.
  • Assist with communicating Committee decisions and requests to relevant staff, facilitate replies to requests, and monitor and report on the implementation of decisions.
  • Maintain formal Committee records for audit purposes.
