Opportunity Overview
The Gauteng Department of Roads and Transport is seeking an Assistant Director for VIP and Pool services. This position is based in Koedoespoort and involves critical responsibilities in fleet management and client service delivery.
This role offers an opportunity to contribute to the efficient operation of transport services, managing both VIP and general pool fleet requirements, and supervising staff within a dynamic public service environment.
Minimum Requirements
- An appropriate Degree or Diploma in Transportation Management, Fleet Management, Logistics, Finance, or Business Administration.
- 3 – 5 years of experience in fleet management and knowledge in office administration.
- A valid driving license is considered an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer requests from VIP and Pool clients, including managing chauffeur bookings, verifying forms, confirming vehicle availability, and resolving queries.
- Facilitate contract administration for short-term rentals, managing and approving contracts on the Financial Information System, monitoring daily activities, and handling contract cancellations.
- Manage the Fleet Management System for chauffeurs, scheduling drivers, monitoring booking statuses, and compiling financial and vehicle tracking reports.
- Develop and facilitate the implementation of departmental policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and improving service delivery.
- Supervise staff, which includes managing work attendance, leave, performance, and facilitating staff development.
