Opportunity Overview

The Department of Employment and Labour is seeking a dedicated individual for the role of Deputy Director in Information and Communication, based at their Head Office in Pretoria. This position offers an opportunity to play a vital role in managing the department's information and communication technology infrastructure and strategy.

This is a key leadership position focused on ensuring robust ICT systems, efficient telecommunications, and strong cybersecurity measures within the department. The Department aims to give priority to African males and females, Coloured males and females, Indian females, and People with Disabilities in line with its Employment Equity targets.

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this position, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• A qualification at NQF Level 6 in Information and Communication Technology, Computer Science, or Information Science, as recognised by SAQA.
• Five (5) years of functional experience within an ICT or IT environment.
• Knowledge of:

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of critical duties, including:

• Establishing and implementing processes and procedures related to ICT Strategy and technical policy matters.
• Managing and supporting the telecommunications environment within the department.
• Managing the national integrated voice network (VOIP) for both landline and cell phones.
• Designing, implementing, and managing shared data, Access Point Network (APN), and Mobile Networks.
• Managing cybersecurity operations across the Department.
• Managing all resources allocated to the Sub-Directorate.
