Opportunity Overview
Ekurhuleni West TVET College is offering a temporary 3-month contract position for a PL 1: Engineering Studies (Fitting & Turning) Lecturer at its Kempton Campus. This role provides an opportunity to contribute to the education and skill development of students in the TVET sector.
The successful candidate will be responsible for facilitating learning within the Engineering Studies programs, focusing on fitting and turning, and related engineering technologies. This position is ideal for individuals with a passion for teaching and a background in Mechanical Engineering, looking to make an impact in technical and vocational education.
Minimum Requirements
- National Senior Certificate (Matric)
- National N Diploma/National Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- TVET Education Lecturing Qualification
- Trade Test in Fitting and Turning
- A minimum of zero to two (0-2) years’ experience in the TVET sector
- Registered with the South African Council for Educators (SACE)
- A Moderator, Assessor, and Facilitator certificate will be an added advantage
- A Driver’s licence will be an added advantage
Key Responsibilities
- Engage in learning facilitation as per workload requirements.
- Assess and accurately record the performance of students.
- Manage a learning program and contribute to the development of program policies.
- Provide guidance on the latest developments and approaches relevant to the program.
- Teach modules including Applied Engineering Technology NC(V) L4, Engineering Practice NC(V) L3, Fitting and Turning NC(V) L2-L4, and Material Technology L3.
