Opportunity Overview
The Department of Water and Sanitation (DWS) invites applications for the Assistant Director: Sanitation position. This role is based in Mmabatho, within the Water and Sanitation Services Management: NW CD: Provincial Operations: North West branch.
This opportunity involves contributing to the development and implementation of critical sanitation programmes. The successful candidate will play a key part in planning, implementing, and monitoring sanitation projects and their associated regulatory frameworks.
Minimum Requirements
- An NQF level 6 qualification in Environmental Health or Community Development Studies.
- Three (3) years of experience within a sanitation environment.
- Disclosure of a valid, unexpired driver’s licence.
- Knowledge of the Public Service Act.
- Knowledge of sanitation policies and strategies.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and analysis skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- A track record of accountability and ethical conduct.
- Computer literacy.
- Good interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the development of policies and strategies for sanitation programmes.
- Assist in the planning, implementation, and monitoring of sanitation programmes, projects, and regulatory framework/prescripts.
