Opportunity Overview

Cooperative Governance is inviting applications for the role of Assistant Director: Integrated Monitoring and Reporting System, based in Pretoria. This position is vital for strengthening monitoring and reporting within the sector, operating at a Public Service Level 09.

This is an opportunity to contribute to public service, focusing on policy implementation, performance analysis, and data management related to municipal and provincial monitoring structures. The role offers a competitive annual stipend and involves significant responsibility in a critical government function.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • A 3-Year National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Monitoring and Evaluation / Development Studies, or an equivalent qualification at NQF level 6/7 as recognised by SAQA.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages, including MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Teams, MS Excel, and Outlook.
  • A valid driver’s license and willingness to undertake extensive travel.
  • In-depth knowledge of Monitoring, Reporting and Evaluation, and Strategic Planning.
  • Familiarity with an outcome-based approach.
  • Strong analytic and research skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel proficiency.
  • Demonstrated generic competencies in Planning and Organising, Coordination, Problem Solving & Decision Making, Project Management, People Management & Empowerment, Client Orientation & Customer Focus, Team Leadership, Diversity Management, and Communication (Verbal & Written).

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Facilitating the development and implementation of policy and regulatory frameworks to enhance monitoring and reporting.
  • Analysing and developing reports on the performance of municipalities.
  • Coordinating national and provincial monitoring and reporting structures.
  • Developing and maintaining monitoring and reporting databases.
