Minimum Requirements
- Degree in International Relations and Economic Science, Development Studies, Economics, or a related field (NQF level 7).
- 10 years of middle management experience in the Public Sector.
- Experience in designing and packaging commercially viable proposals in the public sector.
- Experience in innovative project/programme implementation within local government.
- Experience in managing intergovernmental relations, including practical experience in designing and managing stakeholders in the public sector.
- Excellent working knowledge of public sector strategies and developmental imperatives.
- Valid Code 8 driver’s license.
- Membership of a professional body in resource mobilisation or fundraising will serve as an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Head the Economic Development Facilitation directorate.
- Promote strategic partnerships to leverage financial and non-financial support from the private sector and all spheres of government.
- Oversee the implementation of Intergovernmental relations in compliance with the City's Economic Development policy and framework.
- Oversee the implementation, development, and review of resource mobilisation proposals in collaboration with city stakeholders.
- Build strong collaborative relationships with the private sector for implementing relevant economic development projects/programmes.
- Plan, monitor, and control the directorate's annual operating and capital budgets.
