Opportunity Overview
The City of Ekurhuleni's Human Resources Department is inviting applications for a Senior Learning and Development Practitioner focusing on Content Delivery. This position involves coordinating and implementing training initiatives that align with the City's Human Resources Development strategy. The successful candidate will be instrumental in guiding development personnel, advising on specialised training content, and ensuring the effective delivery of skills development programmes across all departments.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management or an equivalent NQF Level 7 qualification.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience within a learning and development environment.
- Possession of a valid driver's license.
- Strong knowledge of the South African Skills Development Act, related legislation, and HR compliance frameworks.
- Proficiency in HR Information Systems (HR IS) and the Microsoft Office suite.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate the implementation of training and development in line with the approved HRD strategy across all departments within the City of Ekurhuleni.
- Guide and manage learning development personnel and external skills development providers to ensure quality service delivery.
- Advise on and oversee the delivery of specialised training material and content, focusing on key strategies and their implementation.
- Provide strategic leadership to manage conduct within the division, ensuring accountability for objectives, timeframes, and costs.
- Manage the implementation of the HRD strategy concerning the provisioning of learning and development interventions across the organisation.
- Perform operational processes to manage all skills development-related activities in line with the City of Ekurhuleni's HRM L&D policies, the Skills Development Act, and other relevant frameworks.
- Ensure governance and risk management practices are conducted, providing feedback and escalating unresolved issues.
- Follow financial processes to ensure compliance with internal control and governance standards and report on deviations.
- Contribute to a culture of exceptional customer service and ethical conduct by embodying Batho Pele principles.

As the Senior L&D Practitioner, you will be at the forefront of the City of Ekurhuleni's training and development efforts.
