Opportunity Overview
The City of Cape Town is offering a bursary programme for the 2027 academic year. This opportunity is available to students residing in Cape Town, Western Cape, who are pursuing studies in identified scarce skills fields.
The bursary aims to support future professionals across various academic levels, from Undergraduate to Doctorate, in areas critical to the City's operations. Successful applicants will contribute to the City's workforce upon graduation, gaining valuable practical experience.
Minimum Requirements
- Must be a South African citizen.
- Must reside in Cape Town, Western Cape province.
- Must currently be in Matric or have completed Matric.
- Must have achieved a minimum overall average result of 65% in Matric.
- Must be studying or intending to study full-time towards a qualification in one of the listed scarce skills fields. (Part-time studies may be considered with written confirmation if the qualification is not offered full-time).
- Must be studying or registered to study at a recognised and accredited South African tertiary institution (University, University of Technology, or TVET College).
- Must NOT be receiving any other bursary awards or financial assistance (including NSFAS).
