Minimum Requirements

• Must be an unemployed South African graduate
• Age between 18 and 35 years
• Hold a Diploma or Degree in one of the following fields:
• Environmental Sciences
• Social Science
• Law
• Economics
• Accounting
• Internal Audit
• Commercial Engineering
• Other Sustainability-related disciplines (considered a strong added value)
• Computer literacy and strong quantitative proficiency
• Keen interest in Sustainability/ESG
• Good judgement and decision-making skills
• Well-developed communication skills (verbal and written), including good listening skills
• Problem-solving and analytical skills
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
• Accurate, figure-orientated, and focused on detail
• Resilient and able to work under pressure
• Effective communication skills (written and verbal)

Key Responsibilities

• Collect baseline data to establish benchmarks for performance evaluation against set targets.
• Conduct internal data review over baseline data to ensure access to verifiable, consistently accurate, and relevant information.
• Maintain the integrity of information recorded on the monitoring and evaluation tool for reporting purposes.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure accurate monitoring and evaluation of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) initiatives.

What the Work Involves

This role primarily involves handling various aspects of data management and monitoring within the organisation. You will be responsible for gathering initial data to set performance benchmarks and then systematically reviewing this data to ensure its accuracy and relevance. A key part of the work will be to maintain the quality and reliability of information used for reporting on a dedicated monitoring and evaluation tool. You will also engage with colleagues within AVBOB and external partners to track and assess the effectiveness of the company's Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives. The work is largely focused on detailed data handling, analysis, and reporting, likely within a professional office environment in Pretoria.
