Opportunity Overview
The Department of Agriculture is seeking a dedicated Forensic Investigator to join its Forensic Investigations Directorate. This position is based in Pretoria, Gauteng, and offers an opportunity to contribute to critical investigation processes within the department.
This role involves ensuring that forensic investigations are conducted according to professional standards and established procedures. The annual remuneration for this position is R413 001 (Level 08). Candidates who have previously applied for this re-advertised position are encouraged to submit their applications again.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Possession of a Grade 12 Certificate.
- A National Diploma in Forensic Investigations, Law, or Auditing.
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience in Forensic Investigations.
- Job-related knowledge:
- The Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) Professional Standards.
- The Institute of Commercial Forensic Practitioners (ICPF) Professional Standards.
- Forensic Investigations methodologies and procedures.
- Job-related skills:
- Writing, Verbal, and Communication skills.
- Interviewing skills.
- Analytical and Problem-solving skills.
- Conflict Management and Interpersonal skills.
- Computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel).
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Planning assigned forensic investigation cases in alignment with defined deliverables and timelines.
- Executing fieldwork for allocated cases, adhering to the Chief Directorate’s quality standards, methodologies, policies, and procedures.
- Compiling written reports for completed cases, ensuring they meet specified guidelines and quality standards.
- Managing the closure of investigation cases according to approved project plans and established procedures.
- Providing regular progress reports to the Assistant Director (weekly) and Deputy Director (monthly), or as required.
