Opportunity Overview

The Western Cape Department of Local Government is inviting applications for a Director: Public Participation. This is a management-level position focused on enhancing public involvement in local government affairs.

The successful candidate will play a key role in strategic management, change management, programme and project management, people management, and financial oversight within the department. This opportunity offers an all-inclusive salary package of R1,317,384 per annum.

Minimum Requirements

• A B-degree (NQF 7), as recognised by SAQA
• 5 years’ middle / senior management level experience
• Competencies in Strategic Management, Change Management, Programme and Project Management, People Management, and Financial Management

Key Responsibilities

• Provide Line Management
• Promote public participation by guiding and assisting with the institutionalisation and functionality of municipal ward committees
• Foster meaningful involvement in local government affairs, with a focus on ward committee effectiveness and functionality
• Ensure proper management
