Opportunity Overview
The Western Cape Department of Agriculture is inviting applications for a Scientist (Production Level) role in Nutrition and Product Quality. This position is based in Elsenburg and offers an opportunity to contribute to scientific research and development within the agricultural sector of the Western Cape Government.
Successful candidates will be involved in essential functions related to farm animal nutrition and product quality, contributing to advancements in the field through research, data analysis, and human capital development initiatives.
Minimum Requirements
- An appropriate 4-year Degree: BSc (Hons) or BSc (Agric) in Animal Science.
- Compulsory registration with SACNASP (South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions) as a Professional Natural Scientist in Animal Science.
- Three years of post-qualification experience in animal nutrition research.
- A valid driving licence.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement farm animal research methodologies, systems, and standard operating procedures.
- Perform farm animal research data analysis and compliance functions.
- Conduct research and development activities.
- Engage in human capital development initiatives.
