Opportunity Overview
Westcol TVET College invites suitable and qualified candidates to apply for External Invigilator vacancies across its campuses. These roles are critical for ensuring the smooth and fair conduct of national examinations.
This opportunity allows individuals to contribute to the integrity of the examination process while earning a rate per session. Successful candidates will play a vital role in supporting students during their examination periods.
Minimum Requirements
- Matric/Grade 12 Certificate.
- N6 Certificate/National N Diploma in Business Studies/Engineering Studies or any relevant qualification.
- Unemployed and/or retired teachers/lecturers will be considered.
- Must be medically fit to stand/walk for the duration of the examination session.
- Must be trustworthy and willing to sign a non-disclosure form.
- No candidate currently in an Internship/Learnership will be considered.
- Preference will be given to graduates from Western TVET College.
- No criminal record.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct National Examinations as stated in Government Gazette, Vol. 507, No. 30287 of 12 September 2007.
- Be fully available and present at the examination venue for the duration of every examination session.
- Be available to work sessions between 7:00 and 18:00 weekdays, with a typical session being 5 hours.
- Provide support to the examination process through efficient administration, candidate invigilation, distribution, and collection of examination materials.
- Organise, prioritise, and manage workload to meet deadlines.
- Be methodical, detail-oriented, and maintain a high level of accuracy.
- Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Establish and maintain cooperative and positive working relationships.
- Take ownership of all administration procedures and identify areas of improvement.
- Work under pressure.
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills with a high focus on client service.
- Demonstrate excellent time management skills.
- Conduct oneself in a professional manner at all times.
- Interact with clients and communicate effectively, while being reliable and trustworthy.
