Opportunity Overview
The Technology Innovation Agency (TIA) is seeking a Business Process Manager to join its team. TIA supports technology innovation that leads to socio-economic outcomes, and the organisation values team players who are value creators, agile thinkers, and customer-centric.
This role focuses on assessing and optimising the organisation's business processes. The successful candidate will work to identify bottlenecks, reduce red tape, and address operational inefficiencies to improve services for both internal and external customers. The position is permanent and aims to promote the careers of previously disadvantaged persons, aligning with the Employment Equity Act.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Computer Science, OR
- Business Analysis Certificate, OR
- BPM certificate, OR
- Change Management Certificate
- Minimum Work Experience (Five years in total, across these areas):
- Business Analysis
- Business Process Design and Management
- IT Project Management and Implementation
- System Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
- Change Management Processes
- Data Analytics
- Proven Experience:
- With business process improvement methodologies, including Lean or Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher preferred).
- Strong understanding of end-to-end business processes with a focus on identifying inefficiencies and driving operational excellence.
- Demonstrated ability to lead or contribute to process optimisation initiatives using data-driven decision-making.
- Ideal Certifications (Not mandatory, but beneficial):
- Lean Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt)
- Project Management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2)
- RPA Tools (e.g., UiPath, Blue Prism) Certification
- Agile/Scrum Certification
Key Responsibilities
- Business Change Management:
- Document the TIA business process Change Management Framework.
- Prepare accurate and detailed functional specifications for new system changes and manage the process.
- Facilitate workshop sessions for adoption, embedding, and compliance of business processes.
- Conduct end-user training and awareness for implemented changes.
- Work with departmental heads and staff to ensure alignment and smooth adoption of new processes.
- Develop training materials and conduct workshops for knowledge transfer.
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement and digital innovation.
- Customer Experience Management:
- Identify TIA business process inefficiencies.
- Leverage digital transformation for operational efficiencies related to systems and technologies used to interface with customers.
- Produce customer intelligence reports from data analytics gathered from CRM and all TIA communication channels.
- Implement management changes in processes when service enhancements are initiated.
- System Support Service:
- Ensure efficient and effective utilisation of various systems.
- Ensure relevant technology availability with IT based on business requirements.
- Ensure continuous review and implementation of system(s) enhancement.
- Coordinate and facilitate systems training to end users.
- Prepare end-user system training and training manuals accessible via the intranet.
- Project Management:
- Facilitate the development of system-related project milestones and deliverables.
