Sun International is offering an exciting IT Graduate Internship Programme located in Cape Town. This opportunity is designed for individuals eager to start their career in Information Technology within the hospitality and gaming industry.

The internship provides a practical learning environment where you will gain hands-on experience in supporting a diverse range of IT operations. You will play a vital role in ensuring the optimal delivery of IT services to the business, responding to user queries, and maintaining essential IT infrastructure.

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this internship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Hold a Matric certificate or an equivalent qualification.
  • Possess a Diploma in IT or an equivalent qualification at NQF Level 6 in IT.
  • Meet all requirements to obtain a Gaming license.
  • No prior experience is required, making this an excellent opportunity for recent graduates.
  • Demonstrate an ability to solve complex problems.
  • Be capable of managing and mitigating risks.
  • Having an MCSE or ITIL Foundation Certification is considered an advantage.

Key Responsibilities

As an IT Graduate Intern, your duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Responding telephonically to user IT issues, identifying information, and logging incidents.
  • Conducting telephonic diagnostics to facilitate prompt issue resolution.
  • Monitoring the severity of incidents, updating the system, and escalating issues as necessary.
  • Completing incident priority reports for shift handover meetings.
  • Detecting and responding to technical problems within the data centre environment.
  • Identifying opportunities for continuous improvements in IT services.
  • Maintaining business unit computer services and equipment in line with best practices.
  • Storing an adequate spare parts inventory for repair work.
  • Providing desktop support by responding to incidents that cannot be resolved telephonically.
  • Coaching end-users in the use of specific software.
  • Preparing for and performing software installations and hardware updates.
  • Liaising with vendors regarding parts, repairs, and services.
