Opportunity Overview

The State Information Technology Agency (SITA) is currently recruiting for two permanent Consultant: Functional Application Support positions. This opportunity is based at SITA's Erasmuskloof offices.

Successful candidates will be vital in delivering Functional Application Support services for specific clients and application systems, ensuring these services meet established service level agreements.

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this position, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Education:
• A 3-year National Diploma or Degree in an ICT related field, or an equivalent qualification at NQF Level 6.
• Alternatively, candidates with a Grade 12 certificate who possess 7 – 8 years of Functional Application Support experience on the specific DOD HR (PERSOL) application may apply.
• Experience:
• 7 - 8 years of Functional Application Support experience, specifically on the DOD HR (PERSOL) application.
• Technical Competencies:
• Thorough knowledge of the business and technical aspects of application systems and their hardware/software environments.
• Understanding of the organisation’s policy framework, management structures, and reporting procedures for Functional Application Support.
• Thorough knowledge of product and solution development, systems integration, user and functional system testing, government strategies, intergovernmental relations, and entity relationship diagrams.
• Experience working on projects and communicating technical issues to users.
• Strong problem-solving ability to resolve application problems efficiently and under pressure.
• Understanding of the relationship between time, quality, and cost of work, with the ability to manage and communicate this relationship to clients and subordinates.
• Ability to estimate job requirements.
• Understanding of software configuration management.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• DOD HR Management Information System (HR MIS) experience is an advantage.
• Behavioural Competencies:
• Leadership ability, customer service orientation, innovation, team player, pro-activeness, diligence, process orientation, and punctuality.

Key Responsibilities

The Consultant: Functional Application Support will be responsible for a range of duties, including:

• Providing Business Advisory Services.
• Delivering solutions to operational problems.
• Overseeing and providing Functional Application Support services.
• Supporting implemented functional system enhancements and changes in line with client requests.
• Conducting System Integration testing.
• Providing Integrated Management Information support solutions to clients and management.
• Pro-actively managing risks that could impact SITA’s performance and delivery to clients.
• Facilitating skills transfer to team members.
