  • Analyse a wide spectrum of highly complex transactions across various tax types, entities, and areas of specialisation.
  • Recommend improvements to specialist systems, procedures, policies, and practices.
  • Conduct audits using newly identified systems, tools of digital information, methodology, and advanced technology, including eCommerce transactions.
  • Engage continuously with Litigation and Dispute Management regarding legislative interpretation.
  • Liaise with Legal counsel on highly complex specialised matters and potentially testify in civil court.
  • Engage with Debt Management to ensure optimal collection of liabilities raised through audits.
  • Perform detailed financial and cash flow analysis and engage with taxpayers regarding debt collection.
  • Contribute to the optimal utilisation of organisational resources and support efficient audit progress for linked entities.
  • Develop a specialised practice area in alignment with operational frameworks.

What the Work Involves

Working from the Khanyisa Building in Pretoria, you will be a key member of the Audit team, reporting directly to a Manager: Audit within the Taxpayer Engagement Division. What a fixed-term post involves

A contract post is employment for a defined period or project. The work and the requirements are usually identical to a permanent post at the same level — the difference is the end date. Contract staff generally receive the same salary scale, sometimes with benefits paid as an allowance instead of a fund contribution.

Watch out for this

Confirm what happens at the end of the term before you resign from something else. A fixed-term contract ends by expiry, and that is not a dismissal you can contest.
